Through our involvement in the Government’s Tourism Industry Emergency Response Group and our place on the Tourism Alliance Board, Visit Herts are actively feeding into the national Tourism Recovery Strategy being developed by DCMS as well as local and regional recovery planning. Our own strategy will be aligned with these strategies and will broadly take the following three-stage approach:
OVERALL OBJECTIVE : To support businesses to survive the crisis; restore consumer confidence, visitor numbers and spend; and work strategically to ensure the long-term sustainability of the sector.
Respond (to May 2021) - Providing swift and flexible support to help tourism businesses during the crisis and rebuild consumer confidence.
Reboot (May 2021 – Sept 2021) – Relaunching the visitor economy by driving demand and capitalising on immediate opportunities.
Rebuild (Sept 2021 onwards) - Developing a sustainable, high-value visitor economy which delivers jobs and growth across our destinations.
